NOTICE:
British ice cream producer Jude’s has launched a new chocolate with sea salt flavour – ‘a chocolate ice cream to convert those who think they don’t like chocolate ice cream’.
The new flavour features a combination of rich Colombian cacao and ‘a touch’ of Maldon sea salt, and is the latest variety to join the brand’s growing range.
The Hampshire-based company already makes several intriguing flavours of ice cream, including flat white coffee, ginger spice, caramel pecan, and hot toddy – made using Laphroaig Islay single-malt Scotch whisky.
In 2015, the company collaborated with gin maker Sipsmith on the development of a limited-edition gin and tonic-flavoured ice cream, which it now offers on a permanent basis.
As well as its dairy ice creams, it also produces mango sorbet and a mango and passionfruit frozen yogurt.
Jude’s managing director Chow Mezger said: “We have created a truly indulgent after-dinner treat for the dedicated chocolate lover. The tiniest of touches of Maldon sea salt draws out the rich notes of 100% Colombian cacao, combined with local milk from grass-grazed Hampshire cows.”
The ice cream will be available in UK supermarket Waitrose from 1 March.
Each 500ml tub has a recommended retail price of £3.95.
